4) The Rental Housing Roundtable is Hiring!

1. The Rental Housing Roundtable (RHR) and PUEBLO Education Fund’s Housing Committees are inviting the community to come to the county hearing to support the Justice for Renters Campaign.
The hearing will be tomorrow August 18th at 10AM . RHR has worked to expand Ordinance 4444 to provide economic compensation to tenants that are evicted because of demolitions, condo conversion, renovations and rezoning.
The hearing will take place at 105 Anapamu St (Anapamu and Anacapa) on the 4th floor. It will also be televised and people can make public comments at the Betteravia Government Center in Santa Maria (Betteravia St and Lakeside). Call Grecia at 805-882-2484 for more information.
La Mesa Redonda de Inquilinos y los Comites de Vivienda de PUEBLO estan invitando a la comunidad para que participen de la audiencia publica del condado para apoyar la Campana Justicia para los Inquilinos!
La audiencia sera el 18 de agosto a las 10AM. La Mesa Redonda de Inquilinos a trabajado arduamente para expandir la Ordenanza 4444 que proveera compensacion economica a los inquilinos que han sido desalojados por causa de demolicion, conversion de unidades de renta a venta, renovaciones y razonamineto.
La audiencia sera en los edicfios administraivos del condado, 105 Anapamu St (anapamu y Anacapa) en el 4to piso. Tambien sera televizada y la gente podra hacer comentarios publicos en el Centro de Gobierno de Betteravia (Betteravia St y Lakeside). Llamar a Grecia al 805-882-2484 para mas informacion.

We invite PUEBLO members and the community at large to come to the last two candidates’ interviews: Grant House and Dianne Channing. 4. Rental Housing Roundtable Coordinator
Part-time Coordinator
BACKGROUND
The Rental Housing Roundtable is a group of community organizations and concerned individuals working toward social justice in our community by addressing the lack of legal protections for Santa Barbara renters with the goal of ending unjust evictions and unfair treatment of tenants, increasing the number of rental units available, and developing cooperative ownership.
SUMMARY
The RHR coordinator performs a wide range of duties as assigned by the Steering Committee. The coordinator is responsible for coordinating and assisting the coalition, conducting site visits with potential coalition members, and assisting with campaign research and media outreach and providing clerical support. This position is accountable to members of the Steering Committee and reports directly to the Chair.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Coordinate RHR monthly and ad hoc meetings and RHR regular committee meetings
2. Support RHR in successful campaigns, including research, outreach, media, and fundraising
3. Conduct site visits with potential coalition members
4. Prepare outreach and campaign materials
5. Assists with the coordination of press conferences and community events
6. Assist with clerical tasks such as filing and data entry
7. Maintaining fluent communication with coalition members
8. Volunteer Coordination
9. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong ability to communicate and connect to diverse group community members
2. Strong organizational and administrative skills
3. Bilingual English/Spanish.
4. Excellent verbal, writing, and editing skills
5. Detail oriented.
6. Passion, commitment and enthusiasm for social justice
7. Flexible and able to travel to North County
8. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with interruptions
Experience: Minimum of one-year experience coordinating, organizing, building committees/teams/coalitions, and/or working on issues campaigns.
Benefits: $15/hr. Hire as independent contractor. Maximum 10 hours a week.
