2) COMMUNITY MEETING: Responding to the Social and Economic Crisis with a MOVEMENT

Our communities are under attack. The values that we share are not being reflected in our social or economic systems. We see the successes of these attacks in policies which call for the reduction of social services for the most needed or the anti-immigrant laws like the Arizona law. This is a moment for communities to come together and ORGANIZE. We can make a difference, united we are stronger. Come and learn more about PUEBLO and ACT with our leaders by pushing for social change.

The COMMUNITY MEETING will take place this Sunday July 18th at 3:30 p.m. at Presidio Springs 721 Laguna St. Santa Barbara, CA. Childcare and simultaneous translation will be provided, if possible bring a dish to share. For questions, comments or concerns call our office at 805-882-2484.

2) JUNTA de VECINOS: Atacando la Crisis Economica y Social con un MOVIMIENTO

Nuestras comunidades estan siendo atacadas. Los valores que compartimos y que apreciamos como una comunidad no estan siendo reflejados en nuestros sistemas económicos ni sociales. En este momento necesitamos que nuestras comunidades se unan y que estén ORGANIZADAS. Si podemos hacer una diferencia y juntos somos mas fuertes. Ven y aprende sobre PUEBLO y UNETE a nuestros lideres en su lucha por un cambio social.

La JUNTA de VECINOS se llevara a cabo el Domingo 18 de Julio a las 3:30 p.m. en Presidio Spring en el 721 Laguna St. Santa Barbara, CA. 3) The Launch of the Santa Maria House Meeting Campaign

On July 1st leaders of our Santa Maria committees will launch their House Meeting Campaign. PUEBLO believes in the power of personal contact being an effective way to educate and empower our neighbors. The goal of this campaign will be to contact 200 people. Leaders plan to hold meetings at their homes with close friends and family, so that they can spread the word about our work and continue to build power for working class communities. 3) El Inicio de la Campaña de Juntas Caseras en Santa Maria

El 1 de Julio los lideres de nuestros comités de Santa Maria comenzaran su Campaña de Juntas Caseras. PUEBLO cree que atrevas de la comunicación interactiva se puede educar y empoderar nuestros vecinos. El objetivo de esta campaña es contactar a 200 personas. Los lideres planean organizar las juntas en sus hogares con sus amigos y familia para que puedan correr la voz sobre nuestro trabajo y continuar a crear poder para las familias trabajadoras.

4) 2010 CALIFORNIA SHARED PROSPERITY FORUM: Elevating the voice of California Families

In a strategic effort to lift up community values and shared prosperity as dynamic and relevant ideals that shape the looming California gubernatorial race, a group of community organizations and networks have proposed the organizing of the California Shared Prosperity Forum.

To take place on August 7, 2010, in Oxnard California the forum will train more than 1,500 precinct and community leaders to represent our core values and organize non-partisan voter education and get out the vote drives this fall as a Voice for California's Families. The forum will also seek the participation of California's two leading gubernatorial candidates, as well as other key state elected representatives for a frank exchange with our voters on how shared prosperity and community are essential for California's renewal.
